This is a petition to repeal Senate File 385. - An act that will require Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) promoters in Iowa to pay additional fees to promote events. These fees include a $2000.00 license fee and a $150.00 fighter registration fee. Iowa currently does not impose and this act does not include these fees for Boxing or any other sport.
This act also includes additional requirements for the event referees that will prohibit the number of available referees. The requirement is that a referee must have one (1) year of experience refereeing before they will be allowed to ref an Iowa event. There will not be any way for someone to gain the required experience without being able to ref events, thus eliminating the possibilities of new referees.
I believe this act should be repealed and the promoters of Iowa should be given a chance to speak about their concerns regarding this topic.

Iowa is well known in the States for cornfields and MMA. If this bill goes thru we'll only be known for dumbass environmentally unfriendly cornholio ethanol. We should promote an Iowa legislators in the ring event so we can kick their butts and make money
