Responsible Rezoning of Sechelt Waterfront

There is currently a proposal before Sechelt Council to Rezone an area of the waterfront from R1-Single family residence to CD-39-Special infill zoning, to allow for 4 apartment buildings, up to 6 stories high and one town house building for a total of 48 units and 80 parking spots.
We, the people that live closest to this area, are extremely concerned about the impact this will have on the sensitive waterfront ecology, the large number of trees that will have to come down to accomodate this proposed development, the amount of additional traffic to be handled from 48 new units being built all in an area that already has high traffic volumes.
We respectfully ask that you sign this petition asking the Sechelt government to deny the currently proposed application for rezoning.
