Save Athletics During Fourth Period at Loretto High School

We strongly disagree that Loretto High School should eliminate fourth period athletics during the 2009-2010 school year.
First, eliminating fourth period athletics eliminates most strength and conditioning the athletic teams do to keep their bodies in shape during both the off season and the season because that time must be spent in the class room.
Second, Loretto High School does not have the facilities for after school practicing, especially basketball. Without fourth period athletics, the basketball teams would be practicing until approximately 7:00 pm.
Third, pregame walk-throughs would be forced to be eliminated before road games because of later bus departure times.
Last, no other school in Lawrence County is eliminating athletics during fourth period. Their strength and conditioning programs will not suffer, while Loretto High School's will tremendously because stren.
