It has come to my attention that i've found out just recently that Disney's Hollywood Studios, formerly called Disney-MGM Studios, will be cutting down on the number of shows that "FANTASMIC!" will be performing, starting on January 4th of 2009. "FANTASMIC!" will be cut down from 7 days a week down to only 2 days a week and the two days that this show will be performed on will vary each month. For example in January, "FANTASMIC!" will be performed on Mondays and Thursdays. In February, the two days it plays on alternates. In both March and April, the two shows varies on each of the days again. Disney has been cutting back on lots of things to save up on Money. For example, Disney has recently got rid of the "Pocahontas & Her Forest Friends" show at Disney's Animal Kingdom and "Woody's Cowboy Round Up" show at the Magic Kingdom in Frontierland.
For those of you who don't know what "FANTASMIC!" is all about, I'll explain it you and give you a little background information on it. "FANTASMIC!" opened on October 15th, 1998, at the Hollywood Hills Amphitheatre at Disney-MGM Studios. "FANTASMIC!" is all about seeing Mickey Mouse's vivid and colorful imagination come alive right before our very eyes. Some sections include a "Lion King" section, a "Pocahontas" section, and the "Disney Princesses" section, just to name a few. But halfway through the show, the Disney Villains take over Mickey's imagination and it's up to Mickey to stop the Disney Villains from taking over and controlling his imagination. This show is 26-minutes long and this show combines the following effects: pyrotechnics, fire pyrotechnics, live action Disney characters on stage and on waterfloats, music, special effects, fireworks, lasers, water explosions, and mist screens. Mist screens are where they throw up the waters from the lagoon up into the air and they have movie projectors that project movie images onto the water from behind.
The original "FANTASMIC!" opened up in Disneyland, California on May 13th, 1992, but our version of the show is a twin version and it's 80\% newer as well. For example, Disneyland's version has a battle fight between Peter Pan and Captain Hook on the "Jolly Roger," while our version has a "Pocahontas" battle fight. The othe difference is that Disneyland's version only uses the Evil Queen, Magic Mirror, the Evil Witch, Sea Witch Ursula,Chernabog, Maleficent, and Maleficent the Dragon for the Disney Villains section; while our version uses, the Evil Queen, the Magic Mirror, the Evil Witch, Sea Witch Ursula, Cruella de Ville, Scar, Frollo, Jafar, Jafar as the Cobra Snake, Jafar as the Evil Red Genie, Hades, Chernabog, Maleficent, and Maleficent the Dragon.
I think Disney should keep this show going on 7 days a week instead of 2 days a week. But this show is sooooo popular during the summertime that for the 1st show, there's standing room only. And it costs $30,000 dollars a night for them to do our version of the show. But i'll be going to Disney's Hollywood Studios sometime in either March or April and i'll be giving this petition to the Cast Members at Guest Services or Guest Relations and i'll be sending this petition as well to the people who are head of the Walt Disney Entertainment. But let's please keep this show going on 7 days a week instead of 2 days a week. And on top of that, Disney has recently raised there ticket prices again from $75.00 dollars up to now $79.00 dollars plus tax. And they're maybe thinking about cutting down as well as the number of shows that "Illuminations: Reflections of Earth" at Epcot Center, which is the fireworks show at Epcot Center, will be playing, but that isn't definite yet though.
So, I would really and truly, and greatly apprceiate your help in trying to save "FANTASMIC!" from going down to 2 days a week. So please sign this petition to save "FANTASMIC!". Thank you for taking the time to read this petition.
