SAVE LEGAL AID!

The Government have proposed that legal aid is abolished for Clinical Negligence claims. This will impact on the most vulnerable. At Barratts Solicitors we act for clients who have suffered injury as a result of negligent treatment. A large number of clients suffer severe injuries resulting in life long disabilities meaning they will never live independently or be able to work. Clients with serious disability, such as, cerebral palsy or spinal injury, require a significant amount of care to ensure a good quality of life. If legal aid is abolished many claims will not be pursued. We strongly dispute the suggestion that there are alternative methods of funding claims. The Government already does not provide sufficient care through social services or rehabilitation. With cuts anticipated within the NHS and Social Services the situation will only get worse. Never has compensation for clients been so important. The UK has a proud history of access to justice. We would encourage you to sign this petition to ensure this remains.
