The High Court of Andhra Pradesh, India, has recently passed an order to close down all unrecognized schools in AP with immediate effect. A Notification along with a notice to all schools was published in all major newspapers on May 26 2006 by the DEO Hyderabad containing the list and particulars of around 600 schools in Hyderabad District alone.
In Hyderabad city alone around 5 lakhs children study in approximately 1000 such schools. In the whole state of Andhra Pradesh, several thousands of such schools exist. This move hampers the prospects of many innocent children, putting their careers at stake. Since education and Literacy is the key factor involved here, we strongly feel that the esteemed Judiciary to hear our grievances and grant us the time and relaxation in terms of stipulations and rules for the recognition of unrecognized schools as we appeal before it. Since these schools are situated mostly in slum areas and other backward areas, they cater to the needs of the low income people. They also generate employment to many unemployed youth apart from providing self income for them.
This action campaign is to highlight the problems and to look forward to an early solution to this matter. Please support us in this campaign to secure the future of thousands of underprivileged children whose future looks bleak.
Thanking You
