Maduramangalam Mutt & Temple is located near Sunguvar Chaththiram, near Sri Perumbhudhur, the birth place of Bagavath Ramanujacharya. Madhuramangalam is the avathara sthalam of Sri Embar (Govinda Jeeyar), cousin brother of Swami Ramanujacharya. Madhuramangalam is referred to as dakshina madhura (then madhura), lord sri krishna took avatharam in vada madhura, where as, Sri Embar Swamy, amsam of Garudaalzwan took birth in then madhura. The majestic temple housing the divine sannidis, for Sri Kamalavalli Thaayar Sametha Sri Vaikunta Perumal and Sri Embar Swamy is located next to the holy pushkarini, full of lotus flowers. Maduramangalam is the birthplace of Embar. The temple at Maduramangalam is more than a 1000 years old and is said to have been built by a Thondaimandala king called Suparna. The deity is Sri Vaikunta Perumal and there is a separate sannidhi for Kamalavalli Thayar. The utsavamurthi is the aradhanamurthi of Embar. Sri Embaar is believed to be an incarnation of Garuda, for which reason the pushkarini is called Garuda Pushkarini. The information about garudaalwans incarnatin as sree embar swami, so as to assist swami ramanujacharya in propagating sreevaishnavam is mentioned in Bhrahma Vaivartha Puranam. The villagers at madhuramangalam firmly believe that poisonous snakes will not harm them. In the sannidhi for Sri Embaar, he is seen wearing a pendant gifted to him by Sri Ramanuja. Sri Embar is also known his mystic powers in curing any diseases related to eyes (nethra dosham) and also blesses the aspiring devotees with gnanachakshu (devine inner eye), with which one can understand the real purport of vedantha philosophy and finally attain the tirvadi of supreme lord, sriman narayana. The main utsavams celebrated are the Brahmotsavam in the Tamil month of Chithirai and the Embaar avatara utsavam in Thai. Maduramangalam was originally called Mazhalaimangalam. The mazhalai (child/baby) was later changed to madura (sweet). His Holiness Sree Yathiraja Narayana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swami who has been blessed by Bhagavath Ramanuja Shripadam of Thirunarayanapuram (Melkote) established Madhuramangalam Emberumanar Jeeyar Matam and Shrimath Ramanuja Siddhantha Vardhinee Patashala in 2008. His Holiness Sree Yatiraja Narayana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swami, was running a veda / agama / divya prabandha patashala (Ramanuja Siddaantha Vardhini) and is in the process of constructing a building for the matam, which is almost in completion stage, in which his aaradhana swamy Sree Pattabiraaman is being housed and worshiped. Recently HH attained Paramapadam on 09-May-2011 due to Heart Attack & High BP. After HH Jeeyar Swamy got expired, Some existing trustees and local people trying to claim ownership and want to close the mutt. His Holiness Sree Yatiraja Narayana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swami, was also running Sri Vaishnava Old Age Home, Goshala, Library, Yagashala (Nithya Homam), Thadhiyaradhana (Daily) for devotees visiting the Mutt & Temple in Madhuramangalam. His Holiness Sree Yatiraja Narayana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swami also performed Thadhiyaradhana in Melkote for Vaira Mudi Utsavam - 2011 in Mudaliandaan Thirumaaligae. His Holiness Sree Yatiraja Narayana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swami conducted Divya Desham Tours and took around 500 mutt sishyas and devotees in four phases with SVBC to 106 Divya Desams, 12 Alwar Acharya Avathara / Adhimana Sthalams. Some People Including existing trustees & some villagers want to close the Mutt, Patashala, Old Age Home, Goshala at Madhuramangalam which was established and maintained by HH Jeeyar Swamy. Kindly Condemn the act of closure and protest against the closure and sign the petition to continue the mutt and activities. Lets protect and save the mutt and help to continue its activities.
