Save the sharks at Parc Palais

The sharks are currently housed in a tank beside the swimming pool. It is clear that the current tank the sharks are living in is far too small, and these suboptimal conditions undoubtedly compromise their welfare.
Nurse sharks in the wild live in an area of a few hundred square kilometres. The nurse shark at Parc Palais was probably caught from the wild and now lives in approximately 0.000000045\% of its natural home range.
Even without taking this point into consideration, it is quite clear that the nurse shark at the Parc Palais condominium is not provided with adequate space. The length of the nurse shark (currently 2 metres) is already longer than the width of the tank. In addition, even if one argues that the tank is sufficiently large now, we still have to consider that the nurse shark will potentially double in size in the near future.
AVA prohibits pet shops from selling sharks as they have a large territorial range in their natural habitat. We urge them to also prohibit the private ownership of sharks for the same reasons.
The unregulated private ownership of sharks in Singapore will potentially contribute to the decline of shark populations in the wild.
