Save The Swan Pub

We the undersigned would like to make known our objection that the public house known as The Swan in the High Street, Ruislip, Middlesex, that has been a public house since the 16th Century and is a Grade 2 listed building, be changed for the 1st time in 500 years from the role of "Public House" to a "Cafe/Bar" in the Cafe Rouge chain.









This is the last "historic" bar in the area and the fact that it is a Grade 2 listed building that has been a public house since the 16th Century should make this a site of historic importance but seeing as "Spirit Group" would have to invest to update 200 year old electrics and water mains they decided to try and sell the property.









Unfortunately the GREED of the company has dictated that the contract to sell the pub as a going concern is fraut with contractual flaws which means that the location can no longer function as a public house in the specifications that Spirit group insist on incorporating in the contract for any potential manager, including unfair and unwarrented future rent arrangements.









Spirit Group have therefore decided that rather than spend the necessary money to bring the pub up to regulations they'd prefer to sell he licence. Unfortunately they have put so many conditions into the contract that any prospective buyer would be put off.









How would you like to have to spend "200,00 on refurbishing a pub only to have the guarantee that in 36 monthes the chain (Spirit) could increase the rent as much as the liked.









Roughly translated that they wanted some mug to take over nd refurb it for them at the cost of 150k to themselves then increase the ent and epossess the pub.









Spirit group own a a location that has been a "pub" since the 16th century. Surely they should be responsible for keeping this location running in the same trade as it has been for 500 years.









Stop breery greed. They bought this historic loction so they should refurbish and run as it has been for 500 years!!!!!
