The students of River Edge of Bergen County Academies have just been notified that their bus service for the school year of 2004-2005 has been terminated, requiring the students to walk some of the busiest of streets in order to go to school.
PLEASE HELP BY SIGNING THIS PETITION!
The students of Bergen County Academies had their bus service provided for them by the River Edge Borough of Education for the 2003-2004 school year. In light of the laws stating that a child must live 2.5 miles or more away from their school to receive transport by bus, the River Edge Borough of Education has decided to remove the bussing for the students, take advantage them and possibly endangering their safety by forcing the students to walk on busy streets of large towns, some of which do not even have sidewalks.
We hereby call upon the River Edge Borough of Education, named as defendants in this document, to understand the reality and possible damage that this decision may cause the students of the Bergen County Academies residing in River Edge, and two resume the bus service immediately.
