We instantly urge you to spare Lashaun Harris' life !
African American Sister Lashaun Harris suffered from schizophrenia ...And threw her babies in SF Bay on 10-19-05.
Her tragic gesture is sadly the typical outcome of poor mental health management and the failure of Children Protective Services to maintain early intervention services to save Poor Children of Color's life.
An overwhelming number of drath row female inmates, nationwide, are battered women or women with serious chronic mental health issues, killing their partner or children in a moment of desperate insanity. Lashaun's tragic action is unmistakinkly the epitome of such psychological makeup.
Due to her long standing history of schizophrenia, Lashaun should be immediately transfered to an acute mental health facility, and does not belong behind bars or on the racist death row...
The death penalty has not been enforced in San Francisco since its reinstatement in Callifornia in 1978. In spite of overwhelming pressure from the POA in February 2004, you courageously stood your grounds and refused to recommend the death penalty for African American David Hill, alleged killer of Officer Isaac Espinoza.
Why did you refuse to seek the death penalty on David Hill who was sane at the time he reportedly committed murder, but would seek the death penalty for LaShaun Harris, a mentally ill woman who, sad to say, killed her offspring?
