Stop Closure of Bouctouche Transfer Station (Waste Facility)

The contract with RSC Group TIRU, who is presently operating the Bouctouche waste facility (transfer station), is going to be ending in December 2014. In consequence, the Regional Service Commision #6 (Kent County) wants to close the facility altogether. This closure would eliminate waste disposal services in Kent County. Therefore the closest facility would be Moncton or Red Pine (Allardville). It would also eliminate jobs, bring a negative impact on the local economy, increase carbon emissions and increase the cost of waste disposal for individuals and businesses of Kent County.
