Stop Glorifying Criminals

Some criminals seek fame by committing their crimes in an attention-getting fashion. Their need for fame is a big part of why they choose to commit the crimes that they do. This type of motivation exists in the Dawson College shooting, the recent famous killing and dismemberment of Lin Jun, and the serial murders of women in British Columbia.
Why does society remember almost all serial killers, but not one of the victims?
Once caught, these killers enjoy the notoriety. We, as a society, must take steps to stop them from enjoying the fruits of their labour.
Sign this petition if you agree that applications can be made before a judge to ban the publication of a murderer's name, whether that murderer is alive or dead, when there are reasonable grounds to suspect that fame-seeking was a factor in the death of the victim.
