Support Bill 93 Ombudsman oversight on Ontario's Childrens Aid Societies

The most important issues we need to address is that more than half of all Ontario parents that become involved or will become involved with Children Aid Societies are or will be completely innocent. They are not substance abusers, have not made poor parental decisions, have not abused their children and their cases are proved to be unsubstantiated and that kids in care are equally at a risk of abuse. Children's Aid Societies needs to improve child protection Services with accountability.

Why Ombudsman oversight? The oversight we are seeking would allow children in dangerous foster care situations to get help dealing with a Children's Aid Society. It would allow those who make legitimate complaints who were ignored get children care they deserve and finally it will give innocent parents an opportunity to have their cases reviewed by an officer of the Provincial Legislature who is independent of government, the CAS and political parties. The Ombudsmans job is to ensure government accountability through effective oversight of the administration of government services.
