Petition To Support Music For Philadelphia Students
Because instrumental music instruction has been shown to benefit students in many ways and because all students should have access to the benefits of music instruction we ask the Philadelphia School Reform Commission, the administrators of the Philadelphia School District, and the residents of our city, to support the following:
1. To continue instruction for students as it is currently organized, funded, and administered.
2. To extend access to all students in the district through a planned expansion of services.
3. To preserve the in-school format of lessons and rehearsals so that all students can continue study without the barriers of inconvenience to families, additional transportation needs, and other expenses.
4. To support and recognize the achievements of our students as they demonstrate the positive results of their music education.
We thank you for your support and future consideration.
