Support the NO SWEAT Campaign in Bronfman

In collaboration with Oxfam McGill, this petition aims to promote sweat-free clothing in the Desautels Faculty of management at McGill University.

A sweatshop is a manufacturing facility that produces goods through exploitative labour conditions including unsafe work environments, excessive working hours, sub standard wages, lack of job security, verbal and physical abuse, and often child labour.
This petition supports an Ethical Purchasing Code of Conduct that asks for assurance from the MUS and Daves that all their clothing purchases will be products that are made in factories that DO respect workers rights including the right to associate, safe working conditions, living wage, reasonable working hours, non-discrimination and no verbal and physical abuse.
As part of an education institution, and in light of the working conditions outlined above, the MUS has an institutional responsibility to be a progressive leader regarding workers rights.
