Take Money and Inlfuence Out of Government

The political process of the United States of America is gravely flawed and prevents elected public officials from serving the people of the United States of America and from protecting and defending the Constitution of the United States of America, as is their solemnly stated duty.

Private funding of political parties, candidates, and campaigns, combined with professional lobbying of elected public officials, allow small groups to exert undue influence on the political, legislative, and executive processes of the United States of America. Because of this, the United States of America has become a fictitious democracy in which the expression of their desires by the people has become essentially meaningless. For all intents and purposes, private funding of political parties, candidates, and campaigns, combined with professional lobbying activities which amount to nothing more than reprehensible traffic of influence designed to circumvent the democratic process have turned the society of the United States of America into a plutocratic system that is not noticeably better in terms of meeting the peoples needs than totalitarianism.

For the foregoing reasons, we, the undersigned petitioners, hereby petition the Congress of the United States of America to urgently formulate and enact legislation prohibiting all forms of private funding of the American political process, its parties, candidates, and their campaigns, enacting the exclusive use of public funding for such processes, and declaring felony crimes all forms of professional lobbying activity.
