As users of the Technics SL-DZ1200 Direct Drive Digital Turntables, we would like Matsushita/Panasonic/Technics to fix issues that are plaguing the userbase of these digital turntables. The biggest concern that users complain about is the scratch sound and the inability to make a normal sounding scratching while using Pitch Lock. Also, the SD functionality is great but when a user must purchase a specific SD card reader and use the Panasonic software, why is that not just included with the turntable in the first place? Or better yet, why not make the SD function able to copy songs from CDs placed in the DZ and place them onto the SD cards as well. Many users complain that the 192kbps limitation on MP3 files is unacceptable, and consequently, that could be a possible reason that users complain about the scratch sound. Many users are also annoyed by the picky nature of the MP3 CD functionality, meaning that many times the DZs will not read tracks on MP3 CDs because it detects track errors. But its hit and miss and is not consistent. In the future it would be nice if the DZ could have a USB or Firewire port so that a thumbdrive, or an external HardDrive could be connected and the DZ could act as a controller, somewhat like using FinalScratch, Serato Scratch Live, or Torq. We as users of the Technics SL-DZ1200 direct drive digital turntables love our DZ1200's, but these are our ideas for making it better. As new ideas are thought of, we will be documenting them at www.digital1200.com.
