The Colbert Stewart 2008 Presidential Candidacy

This world, as some of you seem to know, is in dire need of our attention, nay, our compassionate rescue. We may stop the wars. But unless we stop the warmongers and the ruthless greed of mega corporations and career politicians our time of complacency without responsibility is drawing to an end. It is with deepest regret that I have come to the conclusion that government of, by, and for the people, has long vanished from this earth. We as a nation have accomplished exactly what our forefathers knew we would. No, I do not believe they were saints.

In the words of H.L. Mencken. He wrote this on 26 July 1920 ......He died in 1956.
The larger the mob, the harder the test. In small areas, before small electorates, a first-rate man occasionally fights his way through, carrying even the mob with him by force of his personality. But when the field is nationwide, and the fight must be waged chiefly at second and third hand, and the force of personality cannot so readily make itself felt, then all the odds are on the man who is, intrinsically, the most devious and mediocre the man who can most easily adeptly disperse the notion that his mind is a virtual vacuum. The Presidency tends, year by year, to go to such men. As democracy is perfected, the office represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron."

That is exactly what has happened.

I am not sure that Colbert Stewart can change the course of human events already so deep into chaos. But if anyone can it just might be these two most unlikely candidates. Besides if we are to have no say about living life on this planet or about the life of this planet then I wish to go out smiling, no, I want to go laughing out loud, and proud. Were it not for these two extraordinary individuals much of what we now know as lies we just might have been duped into believing was the God's truth.

By signing this petition you have shown your support of the Colbert Stewart 2008 presidential ticket, or some such combination of the names Colbert and Stewart as candidates for the highest offices in the land in the year 2008. By this is meant Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart only, no comic frauds.

Also by signing this petition you have shown the nature of the pioneer, intelligent, inventive, and courageous . These are the qualities that are needed today. Status quo is dooming the planet. We can no longer be content with the state of the political machine in this country. It no longer serves the people or the planet in any meaningful way. It does serve the interests of the rich and the powerful no matter how far adrift of the interests of the citizenry they head. This is intolerable in these times of penultimate situation after penultimate situation. The rich and powerful have built walls that these times require be razed.

The government has failed. It's time for a new government. Colbert Stewart 2008.
