In 2007, the government promised the Olympics would transform the heart of East London and inspire a generation of young people to take part in local volunteering, cultural and physical activity, and this campaign wants to make sure that promise is kept with the Stadium in mind, after 2012 also. Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Newham are the three most deprived boroughs in the country with high unemployment, overcrowding, crime and poverty. The Olympic Stadium can regenerate the area and help the local community. By turning the Stadium into a publicly owned venue for the public, it will carry on the sense of togetherness that the Olympic Games bring. More than 5,250 people have worked on the project and more than 240 businesses have been involved, this dedication should not go to waste and it is extremely vital that the Stadium is used to the best of its ability.
