WHEREAS it appears increasingly likely that the AMAPCEO membership will reject the AMAPCEO Tentative Agreement; and
WHEREAS the vote on the AMAPCEO Tentative Agreement will, whatever its result, leave AMAPCEO deeply divided; and
WHERAS AMAPCEO’s leadership now needs to spend its time leading the union to a better deal and resisting the employer’s demands, rather than defending a bad contract,
We, the undersigned members of AMAPCEO, respectfully demand:
THAT the AMAPCEO leadership immediately call on all members to vote “No” to the AMAPCEO Tentative Agreement as a formality, so the union can return to the bargaining table; or
THAT, if the Board of Directors and the Bargaining Team do not undertake the above actions, the Provincial Council require the Board of Directors to convene, in accordance with subsection 29.4. of the AMAPCEO Constitution, an emergency meeting of the Delegates, as the supreme governing body of the Association, on October 16, 2012; the vote on the AMAPCEO Tentative Agreement to be postponed until such time as the Delegates provide direction to the AMAPCEO leadership.
