We, the undersigned, object to Hasbros new aggressive stance towards Transformers fan websites. These provide Hasbro with a massive amount of free advertising, and in many cases have lead to fans who loved the line as children realising they still love it as adults, and putting a vast amount of money back into Hasbro via purchasing merchandise. The company should not stifle fans who have in many cases loyally supported the franchise for nearly 20 years, and have been repaid with threats of legal action. These fans have led to Transformers becoming a new trend among children, and a large amount of this new found status ids due to older fans using their own time and money into websites which have raised the franchises profile, providing fans old and new alike with information. The publication of material on the Internet has certainly done nothing to harm the increasing sales of Hasbro and those they license to make merchandise, which include toys, DVDs, and indeed the best-selling success of Dreamwave's licensed comic owes a large debt to online Transformers fans.
