Unban Zwanzig

We, the undersigned, would like to make the following statement:

We feel that the recent month-long banning of the player [Zwanzig] and the pending deletion of his major alts (and all Digos present on them) are punishments which are exceedingly harsh, given his offenses.

Zwanzig was banned due to several things; the first, being a comment that Cironir construed as "racist." The comment itself was "Nigga, plz." However, he did not intend for this statement to be offensive to any actual black person, and even if one had taken offense, there is worse racism present in the world of Furcadia. While idling in AI, I have heard more anti-semitic comments than I have ever wanted to hear in my life - a group of more than a dozen individuals who find it amusing to "insult" people by calling them "Jews." (In fact, as I write this, a bunch of little punks in AI are going on about how they want all these anti-semitic alts.) And yet they are rarely chastised for this -- but the moment someone utters something anti-Black, it's a bannable offense?

Zwanzig was also banned for "explicit violence" in AI. These included references to violent acts he had committed in a VIDEO GAME earlier that day, and had stated that fact previously. He also made reference to "bitchslapping" and "bitchsmacking" (something which most of us do anyway -- I know I do!) another player, but completely in jest. The jest factor was, again, overlooked. And characters (who shall remain unnamed) continue to do violent RP entailing graphically ripping out other players' throats. No bans I've heard about, there.

Obviously Cironir's punishment of Zwanzig is what the US Constitution might define as "cruel and unusual punishment." But unfortunately, Furcadia does not have an 8th Amendment. Fortunately, we do have this petition. Giving occasional "troublemakers" like Zwanzig and John Woo (whose month-long ban from April is set to last until August) harsher punishment than those who have committed offenses once or twice is unfair. Is Furcadia really more of a totalitarian and fascist state, anyway? Do we want people thinking it is? Please, let Zwanzig come back. He did nothing to deserve this much of a sentence.
