Bed bugs have spread around the country and around the world. Many of us have been affected by this mentally, physically and financially. When DDT was used world wide over 60 years ago, bed bugs became almost extinct.
I urge you to find a solution to this problem. With the state of the economy, people are finding it very difficult to make ends meet and cannot afford to spend thousands of dollars in trying to rid of an infestation.
DDT or something like it, needs to be legalized once again.

We are poor college students and currently suffering from bed bugs and have no way to pay for the most effective treatment (heat machines). We ask that you legalize DDT or offer financial compensation for heat treatment machines.

Put yourself in the shoes of those who have had to deal with an infestation. How would you like waking up covered in bites from bugs crawling all over you as you sleep? It's not ideal. Please, do something to lessen the bug count.
