13 Point Grading Scale

In Warren Consolidated Schools, the Board of Education has decided to implement a new grading policy. This policy was decided upon because WCS has so many failing students. The district can't afford anymore, because it will make the schools look bad. The thirteen point scale is their way of "fixing" the problem.
This scale will make it so that the failing students in the school get a boost, while the smarter students will have a harder time maintaining their good grades. This is not fair or just to anyone. In America, we have core democratic values, and this is going against all of them, but mainly two, which are Justice, and Common Good. It is not for the common good of any student to make the grading system in a way that makes everyone "average." How will we be able to get into good colleges if we are just considered "average," although we put forth more effort than the people who are currently failing. Doesn't the district know, that no matter what grading scale you use, if the students don't do the work, fail the tests, and overall don't know the material, they will fail the classes no matter what grading scale you use? This is why we, the undersigned, propose that the grading scale be removed.
