Against excessive and indiscriminate use of force by the Ethiopian government
Sign Now
We condemn the excessive and indiscriminate use of force by the Federal police, who used live ammunition against peaceful students and protestors who were demonstrating at the university campuses or on the streets.
We call on the governments of the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, European Union and all peace loving people all over the world, to call upon the Ethiopian government to halt the police violence against peaceful citizens who protested irregularities of the May 15 general election. We ask that the Ethiopian police and military forces to respect the law and the Human Rights of the People of Ethiopia.
We request the immediate and unconditional release of all students, opposition leaders and political prisoners who were illegally arrested by the police and we ask the Ethiopian government to respect the will of the people, as expressed by the recent election.
