AMERICANS AGAINST THE CANCELLATION/POSTPONEMENT OF ELECTIONS, IN SUPPORT OF PAPER BALLOTS/PAPER TRAIL TO PROTECT OUR VOTES

We the People of the United States of America stringently oppose any act, legislation, policy, or any other means whatsoever designed with the intent of cancelling or postponing any of our elections, most especially the election for the President of the United States.

We believe that our right to vote is the foundation upon which our system of government operates, it is the vehicle for We the People to voice our will in determining our destiny as per our Constitution, and any cancellation or postponement of that right would severely undermine, even destroy, the democratic principles upon which this country was founded and that We the People embrace wholeheartedly.

The possibility of Congress or any President enacting measures to cancel or postpone our elections is a direct threat to the ability of the people of the United States to exercise their Constitutional right to vote. Such measures would be too easily perverted by unscrupulous persons with no love of liberty or the democratic process to effectively silence We the People for an indefinite period of time, possibly forever, based solely upon the will of one person or a small handful of persons who could potentially use any real or imagined threat to justify the silencing of the American people through the cancellation of our elections or postponement of them indefinitely.

We stringently oppose any attempt by our government to prevent us from exercising our right as Americans to voice our will through our electoral process. We respectfully demand that any consideration of such be immediately tabled for all time, and that Congress recognize the inviolable right of American citizens to vote unimpeded by partisan entities or dubious threats. We view any such measures as an abandonement of the very principles upon which this country was built and a betrayal of the American people's rights.

We further demand that our votes be provided with a paper trail, whether through paper ballots or verifiable receipts, to prevent any further encroachments on the sanctity of our votes. The voice of the American people through their votes must be protected from any who would seek to usurp the process for their own ends, and We the People choose to reject methods now in place that threaten the accurate tabulation of our votes and have been proven to be susceptible to tampering.

Further, as Congress can act very quickly when necessary to pass legislation and effect change, we believe this to be a vital issue that demands immediate action. Congress has it within their powers to promptly correct this aggregious insult to our votes by immediately acting to re-institute paper ballots or requiring paper receipts to protect our votes until such time as a secure method for the casting of verifiable votes via machines can be achieved, and We the People demand that they do so without any further delay or prevarication.
