An ipod for Rhonda

I am a recent college graduate who has landed a fairly reasonable paying job, that allows for a comfortable standard of living. My husband is unemployed and looking for a job. When we got married, we agreed that we would consult each other over big purchases, and if one party had an issue with something the other party would do without.

So far, this has been fine. I have not had an issue with his 2000 dollar lap top, or his 1000 dollar study materials for the CPA exam. I have not even had an issue with the playstation portable and 4 games to go with it. Why? Because these things make him happy.

So, one can imagine my shock and dismay last week when I was denied the portable music machine that many Americans have come to know and love: the iPod shuffle. I was flabbergasted when my husband said it was a waste of money. A waste of money! Even though it would make me happy, my husband still denied the purchase.

After a week of subtle hints leading up to not so subtle hints that I still did, in fact, want an iPod shuffle, my husband and I reached an agreement. If I can get a petition of 10,000 signatures, I can get an iPod shuffle. And, if the world thinks is he TOTALLY wrong, and I get a sum of no less than 500,000 signatures, I can get a reasonably affordable laptop.

So here is my plea to you. Since the iPod I want is 100 dollars, and I need 10,000 signatures, each signature is equivalent to a penny. One single penny from each person is all I need. So please, sign my petition to get an iPod, and contribute to my happiness in ways that my husband is not willing.
