Ban Reparations

Reparations for Slavery in the United States should not be given, because they are unfair to every American. No person living in the U.S. today has owned slaves and no African-American living today has had to suffe under the oppression of slavery in the U.S.

Reparations for slavery based on skin color is racist. There were white slaves in America. The Native Americans suffered as equally as did the African Americans. Over 3,000 blacks living in the antebellum United States were slave owners.

Reparations have already been paid in the ultimate prices of soldiers who gave their lives dying to end slavery. (over 350,000 Union Soldiers)
All the wealth earned from free lavor of slaves was spent in fighting the Civil War and repairing the destruction that it caused. The Great Society welfare plan gave 1.3 trillion to African-Americans and this only deepened their povert. Reparations would do the same.
