Boycott British Petroleum

British Petroleum has committed crimes against not only the country but against the world as a whole. Through their continued us of equipment that was faulty or not up to standards at best, they allowed an ecological catastrophe like no other we have seen. What has happened with the Deepwater Horizon incident is no mere "oil spill". The Exxon Valdez was an "oil spill" and over the years it became manageable and was cleaned up for the most part. What is happening in the gulf is ecological terrorism of the worst kind. BP is releasing hundreds of gallons of crude oil into our oceans and has caused the near destruction of coastline from Florida to Mississippi. They have ruined the lives of fisheries across the wetland areas of these states and the tourism for these states as well. The amount of ecological damage is unknown because all we can see is what is on the surface. We are not getting one-hundred percent of the oil that is destroying the gulf waters on the surface, the amount that is spreading through the bodies of water before it reaches the waters surface is unchecked and unmeasurable. BP is responsible for the deaths of countless numbers of sea life.

We the people of these united states have a voice and it is time to be heard. We have allowed corporations to do as they please for far too long. It is time that we took a stand and made it known that we will not sit idly by and watch this sort of injustice any longer. In the past month BP has not in anyway been made to serve penance for its crimes against humanity and the earth.

We the undersigned wish it to be known that through one voice we make the call for change. In that change we ask for,

1. British Petroleum would be forced to halt any and all off shore drilling processes until such a time as the Deepwater Horizon catastrophe has been brought to a manageable level.
2. British Petroleum will be held both accountable and responsible for its actions in both this and future incidents.
3. British Petroleum will be forced to bring all of the equipment on each of its rigs, above minimum standards of requirement.
4. British Petroleum will be made to pay restitution to the states it has damaged, the people whose livelihoods it has destroyed, and to the employees whose jobs would be endangered by the aforementioned measures.
5. New higher standards of regulation for all companies who are endangering our ecosystem in these manners.
6. Contingency plans for these kinds of catastrophes should they happen again in the future.

And we will be boycotting against BP until such time as these changes are met.
