Bring back the Sci-Fi Channel's Saturday Anime movie.

We, the American fans of Japanese animation would like to ask the Sci-Fi Channel to bring back the weekly presentation of anime movies called the Saturday Anime. This was the one time that anime was broadcast in America specifically targeted toward older fans. Anime has grown significantly in the states, with shows such as Pokemon, Dragonball Z, and Sailormoon, but there is no anime broadcast on American television aside from these shows targeted towards children. The "Saturday Anime" was a great presentation of what anime is: great stories, great characters, and proof that animation is not just for kids. Our petition has two goals:

-To bring back the Sci-Fi channel's Saturday Anime movie.
-For the Sci-Fi channel to buy the rights to more anime movies or series

We the fans believe that this is in the best interest of both old and new fans alike, as well as the Sci-Fi channel. Younger fans of anime will soon be graduating from the edited versions of kiddy shows, such as pokemon, into the more mature anime, like what was once presented on the Sci-Fi channel. Older fans of anime will also watch the movies as they understand the art and with great movies that have already aired on the Sci-Fi channel, such as Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture, and Tenchi Muyo in Love!, more and more fans of anime will most likely view the movies. Without movies like this available to the public for free, the American public will never truly understand the art of Japanese animation.

We are not asking much. One anime movie a week. Only two hours every Saturday morning. The movies you once aired were great examples of anime, and since the number of anime fans is so great, It is in the best interests of both anime fans and the Sci-Fi channel to start airing the movies again.

We also ask that you buy the rights to air new movies and/or series. We realize that buying the rights to air anime may be a little difficult, but we think that the increase in ratings you will receive will be worth it.
