Call to support Stamfords Riverside Festival

The Riverside Festival has been the finale of the Stamford Festival for 30 years, originally titled Rock on the Rec and then Music on the Meadows. For over 10 years it has been run as the Riverside Festival, and in 2007 it was registered as a not-for-profit Limited Company and Registered Charity. Riverside is an open-air music festival which traditionally has been held annually on the first Saturday of July, on the meadows in Stamford, showcasing at least 30 bands and artists, usually more, mostly from the surrounding area, on at least 3 main stages - the Riverside Stage, the Marquee Stage and the Acoustic Stage. http://www.creationbooth.co.uk/riversidefestival/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=32&Itemid=48 Due to a decision made by Stamford Town Council, this years festival has had to be cancelled, although the festival is independently run by a non profit organisation that is purely voluntary, the Stamford Meadows are overseen by the local council.
