Cut down on plastic bags at Brunel University

The UK consumes an estimated 10billion plastic bags a year. Not only are they a hazzard to wildlife, but they affect the environment in their production, transport and disposal.
Brunel University uses a huge amount of plastic bags and not many are being reused. There are alternatives such as using your rucksack or ethical bags. 5000 were given out at Fresher's Fayre and these are not being used.
The Green Society would like to put pressure on the Brunel University in highlighting the problem and make alternatives available, such as an eco-ethical cotton bag. We would like to see Brunel cut down on waste. It is up to students and staff to make this happen.
