Demand for Congressional Investigation of the Insurance Industry

WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA are petitioning Congress to start an immediate, in-depth and comprehensive investigation into the business practices and actions of the insurance industry, including health, life, automotive, commercial and residential. We believe the insurance industry has no oversight to certify the insured are treated with fairness and judicious thought.
This request is prompted by the horrors perpetrated upon our fellow Americans who have lost everything in Hurricanes Katrina and Rita of 2005. Too many people are being denied the insurance payments they have been paying for. Too many people are being lied to, swindled and conned into paying premiums year-after-year, only to have their insurance company renege on their obligations.
In health insurance, non-medical people are making life-and-death decisions for the insured. Needed medical procedures are denied, needed medications are refused, speeding, and even encouraging, the deaths of the insured.
The insurance industry has been given a free hand for far too long, which has guaranteed them obscene profits earned on the hard work of average Americans. The insurance industry has been guilty of doing business without conscience, regulation or oversight, to the detriment of all Americans.
Congress has a responsibility to the citizens of America to ensure our right to fair treatment at the hands of insurers. As Americans, we have the obligation to make Congress look out for our interests not just the interests of the insurance industry.
