THIS PETITION IS REGARDING THE UNFAIR DISCRIMINATION AGAINST SINGLE PARENTS APPLYING FOR 'WORKING FAMILIES TAX CREDIT' IN THE UK.
This discrimination comes from a loop hole in the claiming process that states that if you have recieved 'Working Families Tax Credit' within the six months prior to your claim, you are not eligible for the 'LONE PARENT BENEFIT RUN ON' which most if not all single parents rely on to be able to start work.
By signing this petition you will be agreeing that this loop hole prevents many if not all single parents from returning to work. You will be agreeing that it is unfair to discriminate against single parents who have lost their jobs (not walked out of jobs), who truely wish to work for a better life. You will also be agreeing that the Labour Government is not doing their best to help single parents back to work, despite all the publicity that says otherwise.
Once I have at least 1000 signatures I will present this petition to Tony Blair in the hope of having this loop hole removed from the claiming process for 'Working Families Tax Credit'.
