We, the citizens of New Zealand believe that the rebuild of Christchurch and the welfare of its people will be better for the entirety of New Zealanders in the long run. It is therefore in the interest of ALL people that the funds which are currently being used to build the "Wellywood" sign be diverted to The Salvation Army Canterbury Earthquake appeal (http://salvationarmy.org.nz/giving-back/donate-online/disaster-appeals/canterbury-earthquake-appeal/). Chosen so as to avoid the money being lost into the bureaucracy.
It has been brought to the attention of the council and airport that the sign is not welcome (http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10727440), therefore, we feel that the peoples voices should be heard and this money put to something more important for this country at this moment in time most importantly being The Christchurch earthquake appeal.
Thank you for your support.
