EMHS New Dress Code

Students are no longer able to wear belts, jackets, sweatshirts, or sweaters of more than one color.
Hooded jackets, sweatshirts, and sweaters are prohibited.
These preposterous rules have even stretched so far that students are not even allowed to wear athletics sweaters which, I must add, displays the school name.
Students and parents have gone out, buying jackets and belts for school without any knowledge of these rules. Now, the school is expecting the students to buy new belts/jackets that match the school's expectancy.
After reading the Code of Student Conduct given to every student in Terrebone Parish, I have noticed that these new rules are not shown in the book.
The handbook says nothing about students' belts having to be one solid color.
It simply states, "Belts may not be more than one size larger then the waist. All students must wear belts if pants have loops. Waistbands should be worn on the waist."
Also, the rules do not state that students cannot wear sweatshirts or sweaters with a hood.
It says, "Optional: The name and/or logo of the school may be professionally sewn/printed on any shirt, sweatshirt, or sweater. No other emblem, writing, other than the school's nam may be on any shirt, sweatshirt or sweater."
These rules fail to mention anything about jackets.
(Jackets zip/button up from top to bootom. Sweatshirts are pullovers wish do not have zippers/buttons.)
As seen, these rules that are being set up by the school are not mentioned in the Code of Student Conduct.
Being a student at Ellender Memorial High School, I cannot stand for these new guidelines.
Signing this petition against these new rules will help keep the individuality of each student here at EMHS.
