End the New Apartheid

Apartheid was an evil system that oppressed millions of people. The world was right to oppose it. In 1994, Apartheid officially ended, primarily because most white voters chose the road of national unity and reconciliation. They surrendered power in peace and the world was astounded at the South African miracle.





Now, the tables have been turned in spite of the good will of so many people, black and white. The current South African government, led by the ANC (African National Congress), has introduced sweeping discrimination against whites.





Affirmative action as applied in South Africa ensures that it is almost impossible for anyone who is white or Chinese to find permanent employment. This is a fact. Almost everyone who is employed, from cleaners to the boardroom has to be black. A major difference between affirmative action in South Africa and in most countries where it is practised, is that affirmative action benefits a race group that is overwhelmingly in the majority. More than 80\% of South Africans are black. Only about 11\% of South Africans are white but they have largely been locked out of the job market. Those who do have jobs are usually unable to resign because they are unlikely to find other work because of the colour of their skin. An even smaller percentage of South Africans are Chinese and their chances of finding work is even slimmer.





"Why do these people, white and Chinese, not simply start their own businesses?" you may ask. The reason is that it is sometimes impossible to do so because they are often not allowed by law to receive finance for business ventures. Finance has to be given by law almost always to black individuals only. In addition, those people who already have businesses are often squeezed out of business because they are not allowed, because of the colour of their skin, to get government contracts or to vie for most business opportunities from other businesses. Businesses may effectively only do business if they are owned mainly by black individuals. In addition, most businesses, large and small, have been forced to give most of their shares to individuals who were never part of the business simply because those individuals are black. In other words, the businesses started and run by people who are white or Chinese have to be signed over to people who are black just because they are black. Is it fair when a business woman who employs only four people is told she can no longer do business because she is white unless she signs over a substantial part of her business to someone who is black? She built the business and she uses it to support her family. If she goes out of business, it is unlikely that she will find work because she is white.





Please sign this petition to show your anger at and disapproval of the racist policies of the ANC in South Africa. Show your anger at their unfair treatment of white and Chinese people because they are from the "wrong" race groups. Apartheid was evil but the ANC is committing the same acts of evil. Many of us fought against the evil that was Apartheid. It is time for us to fight the evil racist policies of the current South African government.
