We, the tax paying citizens of the United States of America, feel it is truly unfair to have a separate retirement-pension fund for the legislative branch of government while all other citizens are expected to rely upon Social Securety, a fund that has been horribly mismanaged in both the past and present. The current situation in our country is completely hypocritical, having former representatives drawing pensions that are well beyond 3 times those of your average social security recipient.
We hereby petition you, the elected representatives of this nation, to remove the current retirement-pension plan for the legislative branch and to transfer all current and future recipients to the social security plan of which all others must rely.
Please act quickly to correct this immorral, unethical situation and restore, for many American citizens, some faith in our government.
