Our mission is to stop and/or prevent employers from being so unthoughtful and disrespectfulto us, the employees. We need to put our foot down and demand to be treated with respect. They should not be able to have a good day by making us have a bad day. They should have to take in consideration that your son is deathly sick and you can't work over an extra hour. Have the opportunity to tell him to shove that extra hour...When your job requires you to drive 30 minutes out of your way to pick up their dry cleaning, you should demand gas mileage. When you've worked for the same company for 15 years and are near retirement, you should be able to retire early, than have to be humiliated and taunted by the 21 yr old college student that they hired to take your place, and then have you train them for the next 2 yrs and be supervised by that person for the next 10. When your close family member dies, who cares if they are your 1st or 2nd generation, who cares if they were really your family member, if it's someone you want to pay respect to, demand the chance to go. who made all these rules anyway? If your child's been sick so your sick days are used taking care of her. You feel really yucky today or you just don't feel like working, use an extra day with pay. They didn't miss you enough when you were out to see how your child was feeling. Major changes need to be made in the work force. Demand to be treated as a human being! People may say that we should be thankful for our jobs that we do have. There wouldn't be such a rise in unemployment and welfare if we were proud enough of our jobs to go to them. And don't get me started on the health care. Demand something be done to our Insurance! It is a pathitic shame that most insurances will not let you stay in the hospital until you are well. They send you home before it is recommended that you go. Why? Because the insurance stops paying after so many days. And then what are they thinking when the drug administration charges you over $1000 a month for 1 perscription that is supposed to help you live but guess what? the insurance has ran out so the medicine is not covered any more than the hospital stay was. How do they expect you to live? you can't live without it and they make it so that you can't live if you take it. Get this: If you work, but you company doesnt provide insurance, if you make under a certain amount, you can receive the state's insurance. that's great. but if you get the insurance and you dont run the bill up so much in a year's time, they will take it away from you. Example: laborer at $6.00 per hour x 40 hr week with 1 dependent: has to have over $650.00 in medical bills to reestablish their insurance since they didnt use it. They forcibily make us go to doctor, have to miss a whole days work, responsible for the doctor bill and the pharmacy bill for over $650 dollars. If your lucky you could get reembursed the money you paid out to get your insurance reinstated that you lost because you didnt have any medical bills. But guess what? you lost the insurance on the 30th of the month and the insurance kicked back in on the 1st of the next month. Great economy we have. So, this petition is for all of us out there who are sick and tired of being sick and tired. Lets tell the labor board that we are people and we do have feelings and we should be able to put our families first. And tell the government that it is wrong and unjustly to have to starve to death because we cant afford to pay for the medications that we have to take in order to breathe another breath. Demand that they cut medical costs and stop taking away something we desperately need but dont always have to use to be beneficial.
