On November 7th, 2005, two local students were denied theyre right to smoke hookah on campus. The students were approached by two security guard officers, while smoking hookah. They were told You can not smoke that here. It gives the school a bad image!
A bad image? The courtyard at South Campus is littered with cigarettes all day, and an ordinary medal hookah is a bad image. The school is infringing on a students right for culture. Smoking cigarettes, is against the culture of a Middle Eastern, which one of the students was. The schools code on smoking is to smoke outdoor where permitted. FCCJs handbook has nothing in it on prohibiting the use of hookah.
