Folding of NC National Guard unit

The North Carolina government has proposed a closure or folding of the HHC 105th Engineer Group on Silas Creek Parkway in November 2003. This unit holds tremendous merit and its soldiers desire to see it active. This petition will be sent to the North Carolina General Assembly in hopes of persuading the government to keep the unit open. While a new unit will be created if the 105th is folded, the soldiers of the 105th desire to keep it open. The 105th has received tremendous marks in the last several years on its annual inspection, resulting in its award of the meritorious acheivement ribbon for three years running. Please help to fight the folding of this unit by demonstrating your support in signing this petition.

I am a member of the Louisiana National Guard. 3/156 inf (mech). I don't know what the reasons are for destroying the unit, but I stand behind my fellow guardsmen in keeping it. A new unit would just not be the same. Good luck engineers.
