In August of 2004 SSG Johnny M Horne JR of the U.S. Army was charged with the murder of a severely wounded Iraqi.Johnny's squad came upon a dump truck setting out road side bombs,the truck was hit by bradley fire and Johnny rushed over to the truck and started pulling people from the burning wreckage.Johnny came across a severely wounded Iraqi who's spine and skull was visible and his intestines were spilling out of his body and he had severe burns to his body.There was nothing medically that could have been done to save the Iraqi person,Army medics testified to that in Johnny's hearing.Johnny felt the only thing to do was to end the Iraqi's pain and suffering so he shot the man,not out of hate or anger but out of compasssion.Johnny is currently serving time in prison for this incident and has lost his rank and was given an dishonorable discharge.Therefore we sign this petition willingly and freely for the decision to be overturned and all rank and money and privileges be reinstated to Staff SGT Johnny M Horne Jr.
