It is evident that funding for the arts is lacking in the United States. Our public schools are recieving minimal funding for the arts, (such as band, choir, drama, fine arts, visual arts, etc) and the requesting of necessary fees from students are forbidden (only voluntary donations are allowed). Therefore, the purpose of this petition is to encourage our government to increase funding towards the arts, not only for those who are active in these programs, but also those intrigued in viewing the micellaneous arts the students involved in art programs put out towards thier community.

ART RULES!!! I love the programs at Leigh... they are amazing now despite adequate funding. I can not help but wonder how wonderful they could be with proper funds!
