Campaign asking for signatures to show support for a GB women's football team for the 2012 Olympics.
We've had a GB women's team before and they have done very well in the past. Opportunities for female athletes, of any ethnicity, are extremely few and far between in the UK and ancient bigotry should not be allowed to hold them back from competing. The players and coaches are ready, willing and able to go for gold yet those involved higher up in football associations are preventing them from doing so.
Given the need to promote healthy role models for females in Britain, a GB women's team and the publicity it would create for a healthier life style is an opportunity that cannot be missed.
