Grown-up (Sort-of) Debate

RESOLVED: Former high school and college debaters should descend upon Helena, Montana, to resurrect rusty debating skills, raise money for a good cause, and see their dorky friends from yesteryear.

We should have a grown up (loosely defined) debate tournament with a resolution, and judges, and lots of dorks that dedicated too many hours to an esoteric activity called policy debate in high school and college.

We should have an freak-a-licious after-party, involving old partners living in other states or ones we haven't seen in years. Imagining all the trouble we roused at ages 15-18, we should shake it like a Polaroid picture.

We should raise money through the tournament with a nominal entrance fee and/or sponsors. Debaters could ask their friends, old coaches, etc. to donate. The proceeds should be disbursed to make funds available for debate camp for high school students who have the greatest need.

Towards this end, by signing below, I indicate my interest in participating in such an event.
