TO THE HONOURABLE SPEAKER AND MEMBERS OF
THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY IN PARLIAMENT ASSEMBLED:
The humble petition of the undersigned citizens of the State of Victoria draw your
attention to the continued degradation of the marine environment at Gunnamatta
Beach due to the ongoing state government policy of dumping over 400 megalitres
of domestic and industrial waste water on the shoreline every day.
Your petitioners therefore pray that a Marine National Park be established from Cape
Schanck to St Andrews Beach on the Mornington Peninsula to protect the bio-diversity
of this fragile ecosystem for future generations.
