The voters of New York State deserve to make an intelligent and informed decision when they walk into the voting booth for the primary election on September 12, 2006.
Jonathan Tasini, a progressive Democrat, is challenging Hillary Clinton for US Senate. Tasini has challenged Clinton to debate. Clinton has not responded. Most recently, NY1/Time Warner was set to host debates, but created a financial requirement to take part in the debate. The Tasini campaign does not meet this monetary requirement. The controversy surrounding NY1 is just a smoke screen. NY1 is not preventing a debate. Hillary Clinton is preventing the debate.
Debate is an essential part of democracy. Debate is an essential part of getting information out to the voters. Therefore, the people of NY ask that Hillary Clinton take part in a debate with Jonathan Tasini.
