If Saddam Hussein is Found Guilty, He Should Not Recieve The Death Penalty

That while the trial of Saddam Hussein is in disagreement with the basic principals of the constitutions of all nation states, it should be accepted that the trial of the aforementioned is unalterably occurring. For this reason this petition believes, that while it is reluctantly accepted that this "show trial" will go ahead, if the defendants are found guilty, then the given sentence should not be one of capital punishment.
The people are aware that while it would appear Hussein is an evil man, the rules of civilised society dictate that to put him to death would be a barbaric act. It should also be noted that if he were to be put to death at the hands of the state, it would be in a beaurocratic and unhumane fashion. Wether by noose, firing squad, electric chair or by feeding him to starved weasels, for a state to put a man to his grave is unacceptable.
It is especially unnacceptable considering the specific circumstance of this trial; which is being carried out by a faux-government, controlled by an illegal invading force - in contradiction of the wishes of the United Nations. It should also be noted that this petition is not only a particular issue with Saddam Hussein, but also a universal indictment on capital punishment.
