On November 18th 2009, France hosted the Rep. Ireland football team in Paris.
The first leg was played on the 14th November in Dublin and France got a crucial 1-0 win with a deflected goal.
The return leg would see Ireland needing to win to qualify for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
Rep. Ireland scored the first goal in Paris in the first half through Robbie Keane, until later on in the match a blatant foul by Thierry Henry saw the frenchman use his hand to keep the ball in play, the whole world saw it....
apart from the referee.
The game ended 1-1 and Ireland went out of the World Cup with a 2-1 aggregate score.
